Description
This hidden-gem of a trail is a singletrack dirt trail that follows the scenic North Fork Salmon River through beautiful old-growth forest. Campsites, swim holes, and water supply creeks are abundant. The trail is easy to follow and has a relatively gentle climb up to the English Peak area of Marble Mountain Wilderness. The trail is the longest but least difficult trail to reach the English Peak area from Salmon River Road near Sawyers Bar, CA. The English Peak area has many alpine lakes with spectacular views in every direction. This trail is known for access to world-class salmon fishing in the tributaries of the North Fork Salmon River.
On some maps, the
North Fork Trail continues past English Peak and into the Little North Fork drainage, however this section of trail is referred to as the
Little North Fork Trail.
NOTE: This area burned in 2017.
