Description

Mt. Qixing (1,120 m) is the highest mountain in Taipei, Taiwan. Touting gorgeous views over the entire Yangmingshan National Park, this trail is a must-do if you're in the area and you have the fitness for it.

This half-day trail starts from the Miaopu Trailhead near the Visitor Center. After a 2.2km climb on steep terrain from the trailhead, you'll arrive at the main peak of Mount Qixing, where you can enjoy a great view of the Taipei City Basin. After the main peak, you can continue over to the east peak, which is not far from the main peak, or take the same route back to the trailhead you started from. If you'd like to make your way to the Xiaoyoukeng Visitor Center, simply follow the trail north as it descends the mountain to follow a ravine on pleasant singletrack. Eventually, the trail ends at a large parking area with the Visitor Center straight across on your left.

The stairs on this trail can be wet and slippery in the early morning, so use caution especially on the way down.
