The Russel Trail begins as it diverges from the Potrero Road in the north end of Charmlee Wilderness Park near the nature center. From here, the trail heads southward briefly before bending to the east and reaching an intersection with Charmichael Road. Continue straight to follow Russel Road. The trail will quickly bend to the south again before reaching a T-intersection with Potrero Road. At this point, the Russel Trail ends, and you can link up with other trails in the park to extend your hike and continue the Charmlee Wilderness Park Loop.
