The smooth tread and interesting sights make this a great trail for kids, though younger hikers may appreciate turning back before the half-way mark if they get tired.
Requires a day-use fee.
Description
This mostly singletrack loop closely follows the shore of the man-made alpine Jubilee Lake. The trail begins at the non-motorized boat ramp and can also be accessed easily from nearby campsites. The rich forests provide ample shade that combines with the elevation to makes for a great cooler summer outing.
As you hike, look for birds, wildlife, fish, sunken stumps, great lake views, and a dam and spillway (you might even discover an unauthorized rope swing). The loop can be completed in either direction, but I've always approached it counter-clockwise as mapped.
