Description

This trail is a great, fun option mainly used by locals. I would describe it as a "wide" singletrack.

The section between Grand and Country Hollow is enjoyable to hike in either direction. From Grand, it's a climb with switchbacks followed by a short descent along a ridge below Skyline Drive. The field at the bottom can be tricky sometimes because the dirt can be loose and sandy.

After the field, hikers will reach the mid-point by the water towers at the top of Country Hollow. Hike around the towers and begin the downhill toward Amar in Walnut. These switchbacks are much tighter than on the other side of the hill, and the exposure is quite a bit steeper.

Check out the old car wreck beside the final switchback at the bottom, and continue through the last section overlooking the sports field at Walnut Ranch Park. Before continuing west along the road to cross at the next four-way intersection, the trail continues along Lemon Avenue before it reaches Schabarum-Skyline Trail - Section G.

To make a loop instead, turn right at the intersection with Lemon Avenue to head back up to the water tower.
