Family Friendly The trail is relatively flat in terms of elevation change, there is a shallow pool in the river for swimming, and a few unique features along the way.

Unless otherwise marked, foot traffic must move in opposite direction to bikes and must always yield to bikers.

Description

This is a fairly easy trail with some neat features along the way. The beginning carves through what was once the Old Rope Mill. The foundation and a few walls are left intact as you make your way through the first couple of hundred yards. You'll pass right next to the mill's old sluice. Old rock walls are still visible from the remains.

After the mill, you'll make your way through a shaded trail that will follow the northern bank of the Little River. The river can be very nice with views of wildlife all throughout. Keep a sharp eye out and you may be able to spot a gar fish! There will be one small ravine crossing about half way through the trail. Take care at this point.

Near the 0.75 mile mark, you'll see a stream crossing and area in which you could get in the river. If you keep traveling around the corner, there is a train trestle bridge. I would not advise playing up on the bridge as a fall would result in a long drop into shallow water! Continuing on past the bridge, you'll see a neat area with plenty of hammock trees, this marks the end of the trail! Head on back the way you came to complete an out and back. Enjoy!

Flora & Fauna

Fairly typical deciduous Southeastern U.S. flora. Tall pines, hardwoods, etc. Gar have been spotted in the river. Herons and other water birds can be seen as well. Rock bass, small mouth, and brim can be found in the waters as well!
