Dogs Leashed
This is a seasonal trail, open to the public from June 15th to October 15th - as it crosses sensitive wildlife habitat. Dogs must be kept on leash (some complimentary leashes can be found at gates on either end of the trail). Please stay on the trail to respect the landowners who made the trail possible.
Description
This is a wonderful trail that connects the Uplands and Hummocks trails to
Ousel Falls and Yellowmule trails. The singletrack is multi-use and can be traveled in either direction, so expect some company out enjoying the outdoors with you.
Hiking from town, head east on Aspen Leaf Drive, descending to the South Fork of the Gallatin, and climb a hundred yards to the Uplands and Hummocks trailhead. Ascend Uplands to the apex of the climb where you'll find a signed intersection. Jump on over to Ralph's Pass and enjoy!
In about three-quarters of a mile, take caution as you enter the switchback section with some tight turns. The cruise continues with occasional winding boardwalks and a few bridges as you pass through shaded forests. Ralph's Pass concludes with a short little climb to
Ousel Falls Trail, where you can continue up to the Yellow Mule trails or take a right back up to the
Ousel Falls parking lot.
Reverse the directions for an equally fun, but more challenging hike back to Uplands.
