Overview
This easy hike loops around the island of Comino, giving hikers a great tour of the entire island.
Description
This is an easy hike that begins near the Comino hotel and the harbor. Comino is the smallest populated island of the Maltese archipelago, and it lacks traditional towns or villages. The trail initially heads west towards the Blue Lagoon and the islet of Cominoto, then turns south and gradually gains altitude as the limestone coast here becomes steeper, and eventually vertical. Once you reach the old fort, you turn back east along the southern coast and gradually make your way back north through a pastoral micro-valley, where you can enjoy the local and migrant bird life and flora.
Flora & Fauna
A large number of flowering plants in spring, migrant birds in spring and fall. Sardinian warblers breed on the island.
