Description
Starting at the parking lot along the north shore of Chapman State Park lake, Adams Run Trail starts up a slight incline into the woods following along Adams Run. At the fork in the trail, take the left onto what looks like a tall grass path (right takes you onto
Hunters Ridge Trail). The path rises up a small slope leaving behind the grass.
The trail winds its way around the hillside, providing mostly manageable trail with a few instances of tall grasses obstructing view of foot placement. Hikers will pass by a "trail" of sorts at a distinctive intersection. There are two options; straight takes you to the connector trail, and right keeps hikers on Adams Run Trail. Adams Run Trail begins its descent to the game land dirt road. To connect back with the campground, make a left on the dirt road and look for the
Lowlands Trail sign on the right.
Note: The connector trail is a grass hillside with yellow blazes, but no trail visible. Moreover, the hillside is a water runoff, making it sloppy and not very easy to hike.
