Description

What makes this trail difficult at times is the overgrowth of grass in sections that prevent proper footing.

The trail starts at the park office under cover of a planted pine forest, which is very cool and has very soft footing. It starts with a gentle climb before crossing a cinder road. Cross the cinder road onto a grass road. The trail turns almost immediately to the right - if you arrive at an oil well, turn around and locate the trail.

From here, the trail becomes more grass covered and includes several climbs and descents. You'll pass the Orchard Trail, noted by trail signage, to stay on Hunter Ridge make the sharp right. The next trail you'll come to is about a mile later, Adams Run Trail.
