The start of Ice Hill is located slightly to the north of the exit for Twin Bridges across Little Vasquez Road. The trail starts with a gradual climb behind some houses and around a clear-cut hillside. The fireweed and wildflowers can be quite scenic here depending on the time of year.

Shortly, you'll come to a junction. Stay right for Ice Hill.

At this point, you'll continue climbing through large spruce and pine trees, a welcome shaded section after the sunny start to the trail. Once you reach the top of the hill, the trails heads down a steeper hillside that has a couple roots to watch out for. The forest thins out here and small trees and wildflowers carpet the ground among the larger trees that weren't lost to beetle kill.

The trail eventually pops out next to the train tracks where you can turn right to continue on Serenity to head over to the resort base.

Spruce, lodgepole pine, and aspens. Wildflowers in season such as fireweed, columbines, bluebells, yarrow, sweet peas, and lupine.
