Overview
A short, easy, and scenic loop that takes hikers through a variety of habitats at Washington Oaks Gardens State Park.
Description
The Bella Vista Trail starts at the trailhead kiosk with information about the trail and its map. This 1.8-mile loop trail showcases a broad variety of habitats and offers a sheltering environment which is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. On two occasions, you'll cross Old A1A that extends through the middle of Washington Oaks Gardens State Park.
When hiking clockwise, you'll start on the
Jungle Road Trail, heading north. This trail is fairly straight and easy to follow. Eventually, it curves to the east and comes to a junction with the Old A1A. Cross this old road, and continue on the
Timucuan Trail.
The
Timucuan Trail loops back to the south and it a bit more winding than the
Jungle Road Trail. This trail will take you back to the parking area to complete the loop.
Flora & Fauna
Live oaks, southern magnolia, cabbage palms, cherry laurel.
