Technically a road, the Forest Service lists it as a trail and it's a good one for hiking.

Description

Over 4 miles long, this road/trail connects FS Road 2060 to Horn Gap Trail and Potlicker Trail, making for some longer loop opportunities deep into the Ashland watershed. Horn Gap Rd runs parallel to 2060. The grade is seldom steeper than 5%, so it really is one of the more gentle "trails" around. Of course, you have to get here and that will involve at least 1600 feet of climbing. If you head south beyond the Horn Gap Trail, keep your mileage in mind; it's a long way back out. The road ends in a large clearing just beyond the Potlicker Trail.

While this is technically a road, it has looked more like a trail in the last decade until recent forest resiliency efforts have re-introduced truck traffic.

Several creeks cross the road making it sometimes muddy, but generally it's a good surface.

Flora & Fauna

Bear, mountain lions. Ponderosas. No poison oak.
