Family Friendly The flat paved first mile is ADA and very family friendly including benches and a little beach with a picnic table.

Description

The first mile of the trail is flat and paved along the Potlatch River. At the end of the pavement, the fun begins with a singletrack climb to a gate then more climbing before descending again to the river. Hikers will then enjoy more flat hiking along the Potlatch River until mile 2.6 when the trail turns into the woods and climbs to the ridge in about 1/2 mile.

The singletrack meanders through the woods, hills, and meadows for a couple miles before heading back down to meet the paved trail at the 5.4-mile mark.

Overall, it is a fun hike with easy, flat sections, some manageable climbing, a few roots and a fun descent.

Many thanks to the locals who help maintain the trail.

Easy hike. There is a shooting range near the end of the loop trail, across the river. Completely safe but surprising if you aren't ready for it. 5.8mi — 1h 36m
