Dogs No Dogs

Kura Track runs roughly parallel to Whatipū Road and is a nice option to get from the Whatipū car park up to Puriri Ridge Track. The trail runs along the Whatipū Stream and is a more gradual climb (or descent) than the Omanawanui Track across the way (there is still one challenging climb, but not with as much exposure). While you'll miss out on the dramatic coastal views of Omanawanui, the peaceful setting along the stream is also well worth the hike.
