Description

Pubview is a fun way to make a short loop on Mount Medaris. Some will hike Pubview as an out-and-back, but it is described here as a loop with the Medaris Ridge.

Pubview starts near the location where Salty Dalty intersects the Medaris Ridge. Take Pubview away from the Medaris Ridge for a gradual climb to the western end of the Medaris Ridge. Many views of downtown New Castle and the Colorado River are found along the trail.

Arrive at the end of Pubview after a series of challenging switchbacks and either turn around and go back the way you came, or take a right on the Medaris Ridge for a challenging end to your loop hike.

Note that the trail to your left, West Medaris, is closed to bikes and is open to foot traffic only, which makes for a pleasant hiking experience. Please obey all trail regulations while hiking on Mount Medaris.
