Description

You'll find the trailhead parking lot on Woodland Road near the campground. From the trailhead, follow the yellow-blazed trail as it makes its way up strenuous grades. So steep in fact, that two wooden ladders have been created to help with certain sections. After passing the ladders, the trail turns left on a narrow tread, ascending gradually for over a mile until it drops down a rocky descent to a stream. Get ready to climb again before turning on an old carriage road for about 2 miles.

Eventually, you'll reach a junction with the Giant Ledge-Panther Mountain-Fox Hollow Trail (Blue). If you intend to complete this segment of the Phoenicia East Branch Trail (Yellow) - East, continue straight through this juncture to reach the trail's end on Route 47. This section of the trail is the most interesting, so you're in for a real treat.
