Family Friendly It's a very low grade trail, and though over 8 miles in total length, kids could easily hike shorter portions of the trail. It is not a challenging trail.

Description

The longest single trail in Gifford Pinchot State Park, the Lakeside Trail follows along the perimeter of the man-made lake (Pinchot Lake). It's a low grade, but can be muddy from time to time. Along the way, enjoy great views of the lake. The trail also crisscrosses over other trails throughout the park. Some portions are paved, some portions have a gravel base, but most of the trail is dirt and wooded. The trail also passes through the various day-use areas and other recreational stations throughout the park. One portion travels through the park's campground area.

Flora & Fauna

Ash, oak, and maple trees dominate the forest in this area.

Nice scenic area to take pictures. Be sure to visit the large rocks along the shoreline at this point.

Most of the trail was underwater due to recent snow melt. Very well marked and would be a nice hike when it’s dry. 8.6mi
