Overview

This is a great hike along the river with lots of wildlife for viewing.

Description

This hike follows several great dirt trails through mix of habitats. Start on Oxbow Trail which is a nice, smooth trail through the flood plain. It runs along the river and can be wet in the spring.

From Oxbow Trail, you'll connect to Songbird Trail. This trail is farther off the water and stays a little drier in the wet season. It connects between the Oxbow Trail and the Oak Ridge Trail.

Oak Ridge Loop is mostly above the water and stays dry year round. From this trail (which is really more like two loops joined by a short connector) you can do a short out and back on the Oak Ridge Connector for a little more mileage. Then head back along the trails the way you came to finish up the hike.

There are a few rocks and roots where you'll want to watch your footing, and there can be some minor flooding through the flood plains. Overall, it's well-marked and a fun hike, and you can make a variety of loops for added variety.

Good trail. Little bit wet. Fall colors are no longer present. But it is worth the time
