Attached to the Weyerhaeuser Forest Learning Center, this hike is a great addition to the learning center's activities, and a great way to stretch your legs on the drive up to Mt. St. Helens.

The trail starts at the playground just off the north side of the parking lot. The first portion is relatively steep, parents will want to hold the hands of smaller children. Interpretive signs along the trail directly relate to either the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens. This trail is within the blast zone from the eruption. Visitors will be informed of replanting vs. natural regrowth of the forests, as well as how 'farming' the forest impacts the vegetation.

This trail loops back up to the parking lot and playground. There is a steeper, 3/4 mile out-and-back trail called Gravel Trail that branches off this loop for those who desire a more challenging adventure; signage from the trail makes for easy way-finding.
