Description

This portion of the Maricopa Trail leads from White Tank Regional Park to Grand Avenue. To start, park next to the Steamboat Bingo Hall and take the Bell Rd/Sunvalley Pkwy about a half mile to one of the openings on the south side of the road. You can also access it from Grand and 163rd Ave. An alternate starting point is to go to the end of the Greenway and park before the gate.

As you're approaching the trail, watch for the signs along this combination Jeep Trail and singletrack gem. The further south you go the better this one gets. This is an easy trail to get in a groove and go as fast or slow as you like. There won't be many other trail users until you get to the gate that connects to the White Tanks Park. The park is fairly popular, especially on weekends, so be prepared to share the trail.

The section north of Bell can be accessed the same way. This area is pancake flat with very few if any challenges. I don't want to run this section down or say that it is boring, but bring a book.

Maricopa trail is NOT accessible from Greenway. It is fenced with no trespassing signs everywhere. We tried to get around the fence but could not 2mi — 1h 00m
