Description

As part of the Sir Edmund Hilary Trail, the Muir Track is wide and well-maintained. It is a steady descent from the three-way junction with Gibbons Track and Walker Ridge Track to the Buck Taylor Track and Pararaha Valley Track. Although functionally this trail is best used as a link between the Whatipū trails and the trails around Karekare, it is still a lovely trail on its own. It also provides access to the Pararaha Campground and runs alongside the Pararaha Stream for a portion of the track as well.
