Track dinosaurs from long ago as you hunt for their footprints embedded in the river rock.
For trail conditions, closures, and restrictions, check the park's website. As most trails either follow the river or require you to cross it, it is wise to check for closures prior to visiting.
Description
This trail leaves the parking lot and immediately turns south to follow the path of the river. The trail rotates between double and singletrack, but navigation is easy on this well-maintained trail. You have plenty of options to step out into the river where you'll find a large track of dinosaur footprints from a time gone by. Reference the following website for more specific information on where to find these tracks and the history of this local treasure.
The trail continues on past a deep hole in the river as it bends providing an excellent spot for a cooling dip on a hot day. It then continues on for a short distance before ending at the Horsehoe Equestrian Trail. All-in-all, this is a nice hike for the family to explore where you can see some local history and learn about dinosaurs!
