Description

Starting at the Boston Ballfield parking area for the Great Allegheny Passage head north on the passage for about 1/2 a mile. While you are getting this nice warm up in pay attention to the big hill to your left, that's the monster you'll soon be climbing.

Once the gap trail turns into pavement start looking for a left hand trail with a large information board that you'll be turning into. The trail officially begins at the information board. Go past the ruins and when you come to the bridge crossing the creek bear left and continue up the hill. Once you locate the stone stairs you are now at the base of the "witch". And trust me this trail is a witch!

You'll now start switch backing up the hill, frankly I lost count of switchbacks after ten. However, the climb continues on beautiful trail, even if it is very challenging. Pay attention to the blue diamonds with black arrows, they will guide you up the trail.

The views from the top cliff edge are excellent.

Trail ends at another informational sign, now all you need to do is enjoy the descent.
