This is the stuff photographers' dreams are made of. Beyond the lake views, you'll find dramatic views of the surrounding cliffs as well as a waterfall spitting from the lake into the ocean. The trail is mostly visible but occasionally difficult to see.

You'll pass through a gate just after leaving the small parking area. Be cautious to leave it closed and be respectful of the property. Hike at your own risk, there are very dangerous areas with steep cliffs, please keep a safe distance.

You'll find a narrow parking area just off the main road. You can park here and follow the trail along the east side of Leitisvatn Lake until you reach the end. Up and to the left of the trail provides dramatic cliff views, while heading to the far end of the lake you'll find a waterfall that spits water out into the ocean.

Further on the other side of the lake you can find sneaking views of dramatic haystacks just barely separated from the cliff walls.

Take some time to explore the area as there are treasures all around. But be mindful of leaving the place as you found it and keep it special for generations to come.
