This trail is plenty easy for little ones and elders. My three year old loved it.
Description
This is an easy trail from Porter Creek
Campground. The beginning of the trail is clearly marked and easy to find right off the main road running through the campground. The beginning is a little steep with switchbacks, but don't let this discourage you. My 3 year old and 6 year old crushed this trail.
From the top, the trail then descends 100 vertical feet to Porter Creek, following it for about a quarter mile before splitting off again for another quarter mile. The end of the trail is at the confluence of Porter Creek and West Fork Porter Creek. The waterfall isn't big, but it's worth it all the same. Bring a camera! The opportunity for great water shots on this trail make it worth your time. The last half of the trail can be a little muddy, so be prepared for that and don't wear your favorite new shoes.
Flora & Fauna
Expect lots of greenery. Like any forest in Western Washington, it showcases big trees and lots of ferns.
