Description

Although this trail connects to the parking area, most visitors prefer to head up the nearby South Canfield OHV (USFS 1562) road to avoid the steep grades and rocky terrain of this eroded trail. The trail is also frequented by cyclists and the occasional motorcycle or 4-wheeler, so be on the lookout if you head up Trail 3.

From the parking area, the trail heads west on a gentle grade above the FS Road. After a quarter-mile, it turns north to begin climbing up a steep section of ridge that levels off again after another quarter-mile. Continuing on, there is a nice mellow section before the grade steepens drastically near the end. In this section, expect loose footing and a tough slog as you climb to the trail's end in a junction with Trail 1.
