Overview

This is one of a few loops you could take to go from the parking lot off of Dixboro Road to and back from a pedestrian entrance on Ford Road near Domino Farms. It goes through two parks, the Marshall Nature Area and the Tom A. Freeman Preserve. These trails go through a few different types of woods over mildly hilly terrain. There are lots of wildflowers in the spring and summer, and plenty of trees to change color in the fall.

Description

The trails on this loop sometimes get very muddy, and in the back end of the loop there are some small creeks to cross on muddy logs. This particular loop choice is the least muddy of the ones you could take to get all the way to the other entrance; the more southern route can become all but flooded.

In the fall, the southern part of the loop can sometimes be difficult to keep track of the trail due to leaves on the ground, but the undergrowth is thin enough that you can cross through it easily in the problem areas to get back on the trail.
