Overview
The Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center is a 2,900 acre nature preserve that features hardwood bottomland, upland prairie, and a variety of aquatic habitats. It is located on the western banks of the Trinity River and managed by the City of Denton. The facilities offer users unlimited recreational and educational access to a huge nature preserve only moments outside of the sprawling DFW metroplex. This is an excellent place to spend an hour or the entire day with limitless photo opportunities of the local birdlife and other aquatic wildlife that call these wetlands their home.

Description
The trail connects the
Wetlands Trail,
Fisherman's Trail, and
Prairie Trail to make the entire loop. It takes you from hardwood bottomlands to upland prairies. The trails are fairly easy to navigate with trail signage posted throughout the preserve. The path contains some doubletrack/gravel roads, but the majority of the trails are dirt singletrack. This trail provides some great solitude and makes you feel alone just moments from the heart of Denton. An excellent network of trails that gives you a variety of options to create a customizable hike for any occasion.
