Description
You can get to this trail by taking either the
40 Acre Lake Trail about a quarter of a mile to the southeast or by taking the
Pilant Slough Trail about a half mile to the south.
This description starts from the
Pilant Slough Trail. There will be an intersection at the southernmost point on the
Pilant Slough Trail at which point you can continue south onto the Live Oak Trail. The trail will continue south for about a tenth of a mile at which point it will cross the Park Road on a clearly marked pedestrian crosswalk - despite this please be mindful of cars.
The trail will shortly turn west and run parallel to the southern boundary of the park. There is a large swampy area to the south that should offer some wildlife viewing opportunities. After a little over a mile, the trail will leave the southern fence line and turn northwest. You'll cross the road again. Soon you'll find yourself at the
40 Acre Lake Trail.
