The park has been known to flood after heavy rains, so check for closures before making the trip out!

Description

This trail begins at the northern end of the parking area off of Park Road. Head left/west to the small theater. Then enter the forest and turn south.

The trail will head south along the small creek for about a half mile before making a sharp turn to the north and west. It will head west along the creek again for another half mile. Here the creek forks and you'll cross a bridge over the southern fork.

The trail then turns north and crosses the other fork, also over a bridge. Then it is less than a quarter mile to Elm Lake Loop. You'll pop out onto Elm Lake Loop just east of the small restrooms.

Flora & Fauna

Alligators are very common in the park.

Sometimes you have to pass close to alligators – they're normally chill about it, but be safe.
