Description

The Bottomless Pit Trail begins 7.75 miles up from the start of the Barr Trail, at an elevation of just under 11,000 ft. The trail skirts the tree line just below Pike's Peak for 1.7 miles. Hikers should be aware that the trail is technical in parts and not used frequently. It leads to the Bottomless Pit, a valley walled by 1500 feet of cliffs stretching up to Pike's Peak. Once you've reached the end of the trail and enjoyed the views, you'll have to backtrack, but with such a scenic area, it's not an arduous trip.

Be warned, even easy trails can seem more taxing at elevation, and this one is no exception!
