Description

This trail is a calf-burner. From the parking lot, get on the Grindstone Trail and after about half a mile you'll come to a creek crossing and a backcountry campground. Turn right here to get on the Vertical Mile Challenge (note: you'd have to do the trail a bunch of times to get a vertical mile, either in distance or elevation gain).

Soon, the trail turns north and plows directly up a slab of rock with good friction. Turn around on occasion to get good views of the picturesque countryside. The trail terminates at the Hollow Rock Trail where you can turn right to add some mileage or left to head back towards the parking lot.
