Description

The trail begins behind the Oak Point Nature Preserve Retreat Center. The entirety of the trail closely follows Rowlett Creek. This trail allows you to access the other smaller trails in the area, as well as the local zip line and ropes course. There is more information available on those activities in the visitor center.

The trail continues winding through mostly shaded areas, with the sound of the creek running below and birds calling from above. The trail can be tricky to follow in spots due to the addition of the ropes course and the deviations from the original map provided by the parks department. Follow the posted signs and the creek, and your bound to stay on the correct path. The trail terminates where a small wash from the pond drains into the larger Rowlett Creek. Overall, it is a great trail that begs for attention from the adventurous at heart.

Flora & Fauna

There is plenty of wildlife and bird life to view while wandering around this pleasant portion of the preserve. For more information on the local flora and fauna see the webpage for Oak Point Nature Preserve.
