Description
This trail begins and ends on the
Rowlett Creek Trail. It offers the opportunity to cut off a small segment of the aforementioned trail. It also allows you to connect with
Elm Motte which provides direct access to the actual creek. This trail is entirely in the floodplain of Rowlett Creek and will undoubtedly have standing water and potentially mud in many spots. There has also been some work done in the area, and the trail passes over a large clear cut path. It makes wayfinding a bit tricky. This trail has been lightly used since the work was completed and provides a good challenge for the adventurous. The trail ends on the northern side of the
Rowlett Creek Trail.
Flora & Fauna
The usual forest inhabitants, including plenty of bird life, enjoy this area of the forest. There are signs posted at the entrance to watch out for snakes as they are present here as well. A nice wooded and mostly secluded area of the nature preserve that provides plenty of opportunity for wildlife encounters.
