This road is unique because it connects you with the borders of two provinces in the Dominican Republic. You start in San Juan and finish in Azua.
Need to Know
If you are planning to hike this as mapped as a point-to-point hike, there is not a shuttle service, but there are locals who can take people through with pick up trucks and motorcycles.
Description
The route to the community calls "El Tetero" from the Community "Los Frios" right in the middle of the Dominican Republic.
This trail is excellent. The route is pretty accessible for hikers, runners, cyclists, and even pickups. The weather is fantastic, and the views are breathtaking.
The points of significant difficulty are the steep grades. Sometimes they're unavoidable but especially when you're half of the way to "El Tetero," where the grade greatly increases.
