Dogs Leashed
Description
Though currently a singletrack dirt trail, this route follows a legacy farm road and is relatively high and well-drained. It runs due west from Eldridge. Generally, Langham Creek has too much water to cross with dry feet. The confluence of Bear Creek and Langham Creek is just northwest of the west end of this trail.
Note that on many computerized maps, the creek names are mis-marked. Bear Creek flows into Langham Creek, and it is Langham Creek that runs south from here.
According to "The West Houston Archives" (
westhoustonarchives.org/aba…) this was Lamb Road before the area was taken over by the Corps of Engineers for Addicks Reservoir. This was further confirmed by USACE records, which indicate that Fred C. Lamb owned 78 acres along the south side of the road at the time the land was appropriated for the reservoir.
