Hewen's Creek Park is open dawn to dusk. There is a small parking lot at the trailhead with four or five spots and no fee for entrance.
Overview
This twisted singletrack, tucked away amid the cornfields outside Ypsilanti, Michigan, is quick retreat for a hiker short on time.
Description
This small park is located off a gravel road just about ten to fifteen minutes from Ypsilanti, Michigan. There is little to no elevation gain, but the trail is routed with enough twists and turns to make it feel like a roller coaster. Most of the singletrack in this park was cut by the local mountain bike community, however it is designated mixed use. The safest bet for hikers would be to go in the opposing direction to riders, especially if you listen to music while hiking.
Flora & Fauna
This park is a great bird watching spot with a pond for water fowl, groves of trees, and tall prairie grasses.
