Overview

This loop is an easy to follow, connecting a set of trails up the hill and back down. The hike is well-marked but can get muddy.

Description

The first half mile is a steep climb to the gazebo. Expect all 250' of elevation in this section.

Once you reach the gazebo, the trail flattens out as it crosses the pipeline clear-cut. As of January 2017, the south (far) side of the clear-cut had recently been thinned and the trail was a bit hard to find in the underbrush. Once you find it, the trail continues flat approximately a half mile.

When the trail heads back downhill along the Loggers Trail (red), expect a steep descent. At the bottom, again at the pipeline clear cut, head right towards the park building, following the edge of the parking lot until you get to the Oregon Ridge Doubletrack Connector headed across the open field. Follow this doubletrack back to the Baltimore Gneiss Trail (purple) and the starting parking lot.
