Description

From the intersection with the Alpine Trail, take the signed junction for the Toyon Trail and begin a gradual climb through the forest. The narrow but well-maintained trail winds around a steep hillside to turn southeast. Alpine Road and Corte Madera Creek are below and, through breaks in the trees, you can see the summit of nearby Windy Hill. The trail ends with a junction with the Lake Trail near some ponds.

Flora & Fauna

In the forest, look for California bay, coast live oak, madrone, and the trail's namesake, toyon.
