Broken into two parts, the butter and the creek side sections are both amazing in totally different ways.

Description

Steels Creek Trail is a part of the longer Mountains-to-Sea Trail as it passes though the Steels Creek Gorge. This gorge includes multiple waterfalls along a boulder strewn stream as it crashes down to the valley bellow. The trail is broken into two sections, the butter section and the creek side section.

The butter section of the trail starts off of FS 210 (Table Rock Rd) and descends over 3 miles to the bottom of the gorge on some of the nicest singletrack around. There tread is fairly smooth and the grade is gentle.

The creek side section begins after crossing the small tributary of Buck Creek. From here to the end of the trail on FS 496, you'll encounter very technical trail, steep switchbacking climbs and multiple creek crossings where your feet are guaranteed to get wet. There are also some good swimming holes in this section.
