River/Creek
Family Friendly
This would be an easy trail even for younger children. Get them in the woods.
I think the river connects to the Canton, GA Water and Sewage System. Just be advised.
Description
This is an easy loop through mixed pine and hardwood forest. You can hike it alone or along with the
White Trail,
Yellow Trail and
Purple Trail in the Boiling Creek Park Trails featured hike. I parked in the parking area at the end of Johnson Trail (road) and headed SSW to get on the Turquoise Trail.
As you hike, you'll see on your left and right where the
White Trail crosses. Just continue straight ahead, and you'll find the first Turquoise blaze in the edge of the woods. The Turquoise Trail is well-marked, and goes almost down to the river. When you hear the sound of the river, duck through the woods a short distance to the river bank.
The Turquoise Trail loops back around and ends at the
White Trail, and you can turn left (NW) to return to the parking area or right (N) to follow the
White Trail,
Purple Trail and
Yellow Trail to make a much longer hike.
Flora & Fauna
Pine and hardwood forest, and the usual small animals and birds.
