This trail is on private property. The Madonna Inn generously allows the public to access this trail system so be respectful, stay on the trail, and leave no trace so access can be perpetuated.

Description

This trail traverses Cerro San Luis Peak. It runs through a sparsely vegetated ridge with terrific views of Laguna Lake then dips into shady oak groves. Small streams intersect the trail after it rains. It is a fantastic singletrack trail.

Entry to this trail is one mile on the main trail from the Cerro San Luis parking lot. After passing the gate and entering Madonna Inn property, take the second fire road intersecting the main trail. Directly after turning left onto the fire road the entry to the trail will be a fairly obvious singletrack trail on your right.

There are multiple intersections to trails running down into a residential area or up to Cerro San Luis Peak and it terminates at the Lemon Grove Loop on City of San Luis Obispo property. To follow the trail at each intersection stay straight and continue at a generally constant elevation. Bring along the Hiking Project mobile app if you're worried about getting lost.
