This is a very nice, approximately 2.3-mile, loop to the top of Pine Mountain.

Family Friendly It is not extremely difficult or long, so older children (8 and up?) would enjoy it without taxing them too much.

Description

Beginning at the parking area on Spur 20, I took the trail to the right (counterclockwise). This is the longer of the two sides of the loop so the elevation change is more gradual. The steeper side will then be downhill back to the parking area. At the top of the mountain is the connector trail between the East and West Loops as well as the trail to Archer Summit.

The East Loop does not have any areas where you can get a good view of the mountains, but is typical GA hardwood and pine forest.

Flora & Fauna

I have seen deer here several times before.

88° There is VERY little water. If you are looking for pretty water views or somewhere to dip your feet, this trail is not ideal. At least not in 8… 2.2mi

Good workout, it's a knee burner if you have bad knees (like hubby), but very enjoyable! 2.5mi
