Description

Enjoy an easy hike inside of Stone Mountain Park on Indian Island. At the Quarry Exhibit roundabout, turn off Robert E Lee Blvd onto Covered Bridge Ln. This takes you to a historic covered bridge listed in the “World Guide to Covered Bridges." The century old bridge is nearly 20-feet high and was moved to Stone Mountain Park from Athens, Georgia, in 1969. This quaint pine and cedar bridge leads to Indian Island, a picture perfect place for a lazy day of picnics or reading.

Follow the King's Trail's purple blazes for a scenic one-mile hike mostly along the waterline with views of Stone Mountain Lake. There is also a short orange-blazed Connector Trail which takes you along the waterfront when the King's Trail ventures more inland. This short connector meets back up with the King's Trail in about a 1/4 mile.
