If there's room, you can simply park at the trailhead and follow the road to the top.

The road is maintained to service the fire tower and ranger station at the summit, so it should be very easy to follow without too many obstacles. There's quite a bit of elevation gain, but it is steady and never too steep. This is probably the most common route up to Hunter Mountain and back down. Take the Devil's Path to Hunter Mountain route to complete a loop or just for more seclusion.
