Description
This short loop traverses through the open prairie grass and a marsh section of the park, offering up wonderful landscape views. This trail is short enough and tame enough for just about anyone. There is an extremely short section at the beginning of the hike that heads up the hill through the trees to get up on top of the hill this loop is on. This section is somewhat steep and narrow, with uneven ground, but it is short enough that it isn't difficult.
The middle portion of this loop meanders through prairie and marshes, offering up wonderful views of wildlife and plant life. The last portion of the loop enters into the trees, where the trail does become a little steeper and more uneven, but it is still easily doable. If you want a slightly longer hike and more time in the trees, opt to take the
Cattail Trail to experience more of the marshes and trees.
