The Botanical Trail can be accessed by the T.V. Tower Road Connector on Cuesta Ridge. The entrance is a hundred meters past the T.V. tower and directly before the sign reading "Cuesta Ridge Botanical Area". Make a left at the sign, pass through a gate and begin onto rocky singletrack. Alternatively, this can be accessed through the Eucs via Morning Glory Trail. The intersection of the Morning Glory Trail and Botanical Trail is nondescript, bounded by a faint/almost invisible old mining road.

At the intersection of Morning Glory Trail and Botanical, the grade noticeably steepens and becomes more rocky for an unpleasant last climb up to T.V. Tower Road. Be aware of mountain bikers as they tend to use this section to gain speed off the ridge. Due to the flowing nature of the trail, it is much more pleasant to go up than down so if you're doing a loop in this area, I recommend ascending this trail and descending Shooters. There are some tight blind turns and the view of the trail ahead is mostly obscured by dense foliage. The trail offers good views of the valley below.
