Description

From the Richards Road Trail, the Crystal Springs Trail cross McGarvey Gulch and climbs toward the Zwierlein Picnic Area. From there it heads northwest and intersects with the Dean Trail and then descends to cross McGarvey Gulch Creek again over two bridges. Climb again, passing junctions with the Chaparral Trail and the Canyon Trail. Cross under a power line right-of-way, then pass two turn-offs for the Toyon Group Camps. Cross the Campground Trail - actually a dirt road - and then cross the power line right-of-way again. Pass the turn-off for the Dean Trail and continue climbing until you reach Summit Springs Trail - another dirt road.

Flora & Fauna

Redwood, Douglas-fir, hadron, tanoak, and coast live oak in the forests. Manzanita and toyon in the chaparral.
