Overview
While there's no official "trail" in this area, this route is a fairly easy way to reach a relatively verdant desert oasis.
Need to Know
The trail is not marked, but is easy to follow. This trail should be avoided during flash flood watches. To get to the trailhead, follow Darwin Falls Road, which is unpaved. For more information on the trail, visit the NPS
website.
Description
Darwin Falls is an amazing hike that starts in a very dry landscape and then you enter into a desert oasis and will continue your journey among trees and lush grasses as you pick your way to a natural spring and an amazing waterfall.
After you enter the trees, there are some mandatory creek crossings that might get your feet wet. Additionally, you'll need to do some scrambling over some rocks as you work your way to the end of the trail. The trail is unmarked, but is easy to follow, as most of the route is in a desert wash.
Flora & Fauna
A desert oasis in barren Death Valley with willows and other greenery around the waterfall. You may hear or see migratory birds in the springtime.
